Cerebral Brewing is looking to add a talented and motivated Cellar Lead to our team to further the growth of our nationally recognized and award winning brand. The Cellar Lead will work with the Head Brewer, Lead Brewer, and Production team to ensure our beer is cared for and meets our rigorous QA/QC standards. The Cellar Lead will take responsibility for all cold side processes as well as packaging. This role is primarily headquartered at our Aurora production facility but requires occasional / flexible travel between locations.
Direct and supervise all aspects of cellar and packaging operations
Work with Head Brewer and Lead Brewer to build out production schedule
Yeast propagation from slant, harvesting, pitching, cell counts and daily monitoring of in-house grown yeast
Coordinate the timing of cold side additions, yeast harvests/pitches, tank crashes, transfers and packaging dates with Lead Brewer
Coordinate with Lead Brewer to track raw material inventory including cold side additions, as well as ingredient ordering, organizing and handling
Manage all quality related record keeping and compliance documentation
Filling in on the brewhouse when/if necessary due to vacations/time off
Filling, emptying, and sampling barrels as needed for special projects
Collaboration and creative ideation of new products and modification of existing projects
Low-oxygen transfers, carbonation monitoring, and True-to-Brand assessment
Packaging of brite and still beer in kegs, bottles, and cans
Running Wild Goose 4 head canning line
Cleaning of FVs, BTs, and Brewhouse using industry best practices
Adhere to existing SOPs and contribute to the refinement and drafting of new SOPs
We are a small team of dedicated beer professionals - a positive attitude is a must
Minimum 2 years of relevant cellar experience
Brewing-related certification or degree preferred
Experience running Wild Goose canning line preferred
Mechanical aptitude and ability to problem solve on the fly
Ability to work unsupervised while maintaining safety and quality standards
Self-motivated with good time management skills
Ability to manage multiple processes at one time
Ability to effectively communicate with team members throughout the brewery
Maintain and manage safe working practices, including chemical handling, use of PPE, etc
Ability to frequently lift and/or move 55lb bags of grain and move 165lb kegs
Ability to stand for prolonged periods, stoop, crawl, twist, turn, lift, kneel and climb ladders/stairs
Ability to operate a forklift, scissor lift and pallet jack (forklift training available)
$50,000-55,000 - adjusted based on experience and performance
Paid time off (10 days years 1-4, 15 days after 5 years)
