"Everything around us has been transported with a forklift-fork at some point. That's what inspires all of us, the whole Vetter team and me, every day. Vetter makes what moves the world!" - Arnold Vetter, Managing Director of German-based fork manufacturer VETTER Industrie GmbH.

VETTER – it’s all about forks

At first glance, the fork is not a spectacular product. Inconspicuous, but tirelessly in use everywhere and indispensable. But how sophisticated, innovative, versatile and exciting such a product really is often only becomes apparent when you take a look behind the scenes.

A look back: On March the 10th 1964, just in time for the company's 75th anniversary, VETTER was pleased to receive its first order for forks. One of these early customers was Linde in Aschaffenburg (formerly known as Gueldner Motor Works). For 58 years now VETTER has been closely associated with developments in the industrial truck industry. Arnold Vetter, in 4th family generation now also already over 30 years in the fork business: "From early on, it was our goal to become a full-range supplier for everything named 'fork' and to offer perfect solutions to our many long-standing partners in the forklift industry." Customers' demands are becoming increasingly complex, and today Vetter meets them with what is probably the world's most comprehensive range of forks.

Sustainable production as basis for best products

VETTER’s production is concentrated in Burbach/Germany and Chambersburg in the US: state-of-the-art production facilities and a continuous improvement process ensure consistently high product quality. Only the best workmanship, sophisticated heat treatment, a high level of vertical integration and high-quality primary material provide the certainty that the fork will withstand even the highest stresses. All under the motto "the world's best forks for the world's best industrial trucks".

“A real matter of the heart is VETTER’s initiative to reduce energy consumption to the utmost. A variety of actions is started to create the “GreenFork” ” as Tobias Suessenbach, energy manager at VETTER, states.

SmartFork® sensor fork – a new era in material handling

The SmartFork developed by VETTER is a real trendsetter: "The integration of sensors and camera technology into the fork opens up completely new perspectives for the safe, ergonomic and efficient use of industrial trucks," says Head of Development Tobias Weyl.

To name but a few solutions: The SmartFork FrontCam and the SmartFork SideCam are two integrated camera solutions that significantly improve the driver's view in front of and onto the load. Automatic switching of the two systems ensures safe transport in all situations.

With this system the driver can see everything that is happening in front of his industrial truck via the same monitor, even though the load is picked up. People and obstacles are detected at an early stage and damage is reduced.

Another clever solution is the SmartFork Laser as an aiming aid, picking up loads in the rack storage area gets easier and safer. The line laser installed in the fork tip draws a horizontal line on the load carrier so that the forklift operator can clearly see that he is entering the pallet at the correct height.

Especially designed for AGVs there is a wide variety of additional integrated sensors available. This makes SmartFork a real enabler to make AGVs fit for sophisticated solutions.

CROC fork coatings: Better and safer work with the best grip

With the innovative CROC ForkCoating, the goods to be transported no longer slip off the forks during braking, making it possible to transport sensitive goods in particular safely.  A pleasant side effect: the damping effect of the CROC coatings reduces the noise level. The colored coating also means significantly improved visibility of the forks, making tripping hazards in the workplace a thing of the past. Another benefit: CROC ForkCoatings are gentle on the surfaces of sensitive goods and prevent scratches!

"VETTER uses only premium materials that withstand the high toughest everyday usage and ensure the necessary safety and service life. With CROC coatings, we actively contribute to preventing cargo damage and ensuring smooth processes in intralogistics," says Patrick Schneider, Product Specialist CROC Coatings at VETTER.
